Persons studying or interested in health management of warmwater fish and trout will find the double-feature DVD-ROM Diseases of Warmwater Fish and Trout Diseases useful in identifying fish pathogens. Live-action footage of bacteria and parasites are shown in microscopic video shots. Viewers will actually gain experience identifying live pathogens microscopically from the footage, and will be better trained compared to learning only from still photographs. Having the opportunity to see a large variety of fish pathogens usually occurs over several years when working in most fish disease diagnostic laboratories. This educational DVD-ROM, however, brings that opportunity to viewers in 2 segments (warmwater and coldwater) that are approximately 30 minutes each. Learning to accurately identify fish diseases will help viewers to approach disease problems with more knowledge, increasing the chances of solving the problems. This will hopefully result in a decrease in fish losses, saving money for fish culturists.
Also contained on this DVD-ROM are the manual Catfish Farming in Kentucky; over 50 information sheets produced by the Southern Regional Aquaculture Center (SRAC), which is funded by USDA; and several links to aquaculture-related Internet Web sites.
This DVD is compatible with all DVD zones worldwide.
