This slot will feature speakers from the GIZ ‘Global Initiative on Fish’. The discussion will focus on how aquaculture production systems are evolving to integrate broader aquatic resource management imperatives, and the continued German cooperation support going forward. The emphasis will be on extensive production systems that balance economic, social, and environmental considerations. The International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) plans to present their latest study “Sustainable Asset Valuation (SAVi) of Aquaculture, Madagascar - Beyond Production: An Integrated Assessment of Aquaculture Systems Production”. This presentation will serve as a bridge to the topics in the second slot, focusing on intensification and digitalisation in aquaculture.
