During this session, federal agencies will provide an overview of their current authorities and how those may relate to offshore farms to mutually inform the agencies and marine aquaculture community. Leadership of the National Aquaculture Association (NAA) has conveyed concerns about a lack of understanding of the multiplicity of enforcement agencies. Federal agencies are looking to better understand these concerns and provide clarification on the extent and limits to their enforcement authorities as it may pertain to offshore aquaculture operations in the EEZ.
