The School of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences (www.sfaas.auburn.edu) at Auburn
University seeks a genomicist. The position is 9-month, tenure track (80%
research: 20% teaching) and will be filled at the rank of assistant or
associate professor. The successful candidate will develop an externally funded
research program in genomics that is directed toward applied questions in
aquaculture, fisheries, or other aquatic sciences. The successful candidate
will also teach courses in the application of genomics to the fields of
aquaculture, fisheries, and other aquatic sciences.
Requirements
A PhD in genomics or a related life-sciences field, a publication record
in genomics research focused on aquatic organisms, and a record of attracting
or potential to attract extramural funding are required at the time employment
begins. Postdoctoral training in an appropriate field, a research area that
complements existing School faculty, and experience in classroom instruction
and mentoring graduate students are also considerations.
