Maybe this is the job for you? In Nordland, we have an aquaculture industry that will grow and develop, and we have many exciting and professionally challenging issues to solve.

The position is placed in the pollution section with 15 other colleagues. We have a large and good professional environment in the climate and environment department, where you will also have colleagues who work with nature management, national parks and natural diversity. You will have the opportunity to get to know various business players, consulting companies, other government agencies and municipal administration, with whom you will have dialogue and guidance within your areas of expertise.


We need you who can keep a cool head and deliver the right quality at the right time. As a professional with us, you must be able to have a professional dialogue with partners and the businesses for which we are the pollution control authority. We want you to be structured, and able to both collaborate well and work independently.

The place of work is Bodø, but it can be opened up for a remote office/home office after a concrete assessment.


Work assignments

  • Write professionally and legally justified decisions that ensure that pollution from industry and business does not cause excessive damage or inconvenience to the environment
  • Assess marine biological surveys
  • Work in databases, map solutions and GIS tools
  • Interact with other professionals in spatial planning and natural diversity
  • Carry out supervision, including on-site supervision, remote supervision and document supervision
  • Follow-up of environmental monitoring and reporting, pollution-related reports of concern, tips and emergency incidents
  • Dialogue with industry players, administration and other organisations
  • Guidance and other tasks at the section, such as in planning work and water management

Requirements

What qualifications do you need to fill this role?

  • Master's or equivalent in marine biology or other relevant subject areas
  • minimum 2 years of relevant experience from work with pollution, the aquaculture industry, consultancy and/or public environmental management
  • good skills in oral and written Norwegian
  • Professionally confident, proactive and steady
  • good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with different actors


It will also count positively if you have

  • planning or legal education/competence
  • knowledge of ocean and coastal management, the Planning and Building Act, natural resource management or water management
  • a well-established professional network that you can draw on in the task solution
  • work with supervision
  • experience in processing applications for permits under the Pollution Act in the area of ​​aquaculture
  • knowledge of vulnerable marine biodiversity, e.g. corals
  • driving license class B
