Aquaculture Technicians perform a variety of tasks relating to daily operations and maintenance of our aquaculture facility in Turners Falls, MA including fish husbandry chores, water quality testing, fish handling, grading, system maintenance, data collection, harvesting, and processing.
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

This position is expected to participate in a rotating on-call, and weekend/holiday coverage schedule with some nighttime work required.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, organized and can maintain a positive, enthusiastic attitude. Key competencies include scientific and mechanical aptitude, proficiency in basic mathematics and the ability to swim. Knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry and electronics is a plus. The successful candidate must be able to work flexible hours and participate in regular on-call evening and weekend schedules. This position includes working in wet/humid environment, inside or outside during all seasons in all environmental conditions, heavy lifting (over 50 lbs), ladder work, and occasionally working at heights. Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. for other than practical training.
Preference will be given to someone with two years of experience in aquaculture, agriculture, or landscaping. A bachelor’s or associates degree in related field may qualify as experience, however practical work experience is preferred.
