We're on the lookout for a dedicated and skilled Fish Health-Aquaculture Veterinarian to join our innovative aquaculture team. If you're passionate about fish health, disease management, and contributing to the growth of the aquaculture industry, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities: 

a. Disease Prevention and Management 

i. Conduct routine check-ups to monitor the health of fish and other aquatic animals, detecting potential diseases early. 

ii. Identify and diagnose fish diseases, including bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections. 

iii. Develop and implement disease prevention, biosecurity, and control strategies. 

iv. Conduct necropsies to determine the cause of death and disease outbreaks. 

v. Diagnose and treat aquatic diseases using legally appropriate medicines and treatments (according to ASC/BAP standards).

b. Optimize fish Health and welfare 

c. Optimize Biosecurity 

d. Revise SOP and quality manual to improve fish health status 

e. Advisory Role 

i. Provide guidance to aquaculture staff on best practices for animal care, feeding, and handling to promote health and productivity.

f. Research and Developmen

i. Develop an autogenous vaccine for Oceanpick or purchase a commercial vaccine if available. 

ii. Identify a partner to produce the autogenous vaccine and negotiate terms.

g. Documentation and Analysis 

i. Maintain detailed records of health status, treatments, diagnoses, outbreaks, and biosecurity. 

ii.  Analyze data to improve fish health status and animal welfare.

h. Set-Up In-House Laboratory 

i. Design and purchase the necessary equipment to run this department professionally.

i. Training 

i. Mentor and train a successor to pass on knowledge and ensure the continuity of high-quality veterinary services.

j. Coordination with Government Authorities 

i. Coordinate with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and vaccine manufacturers to secure emergency vaccine approvals. 

ii. Prepare and submit the necessary documentation for vaccine authorization.

Requirements

Qualifications: 

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent 

• Experience or training in aquatic veterinary medicine or aquaculture

Skills & Qualities: 

• Proficiency in diagnostic techniques, lab procedures, and data analysis 

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills 

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
