Objective
I completed a Master of Science in Tropical Animal Health: Major Animal Disease Control from the Antwerp Institute of Tropical Medicine. My thesis work was focused on Diagnosis of Taenia saginata in cattle by Milk ELISA. In this master thesis work, we developed Antibody Milk ELISA which can detect the presence of antibodies against Cysticercus bovis in the milk sample. Furthermore, I also completed a Master of Science in Aquaculture from Ghent University, Belgium. My master thesis research was entitled as the role of the antennal gland in the entry portal of White Spot Syndrome Virus (WSSV) in shrimp. During this my thesis work, we confirmed for the first time that the antennal gland is the entry portal of WSSV in shrimp.
I have acquired some basic knowledge, experience and skill in conducting different laboratory works, namely: bacteria culture techniques such as antibiotic susceptibility test, quorum sensing test, isolation and identification, biochemical tests, virulence test, and conjugation test; pathological examinations, hematological examination tests; cell culture; immunological methods (ELISA, immunofluorescence); molecular techniques like conventional PCR, Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (RFLP) and quantitative PCR methods which are essential tools to carry out my further PhD research works independently. Furthermore, I also acquired fundamental knowledge, skill and experience in conducting basic data analysis and management tools using SPSS and R-input programming software applications.
