Senior Fisheries Standard Manager

Job Details

The Fisheries Standard team is currently recruiting a Senior Fisheries Standard Manager for a 14-month fixed-term maternity cover contract.

This role plays an important part in supporting the operational management and continuous improvement of the MSC Fisheries Standard and Fisheries Certification process. You will work closely with teams across the organisation, governance bodies and external stakeholders, contributing to projects and initiatives that support the integrity, credibility and accessibility of the MSC program.

This is an opportunity to lead and influence high-profile work across the Fisheries Standard team, while gaining exposure to policy development, stakeholder engagement, governance processes and operational improvement initiatives within an international organisation. Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Leading the MSC vessel list project and associated stakeholder engagement activities.
• Coordinating public consultations linked to topics within the Fisheries Program Revision.
• Supporting methods development, pilot testing and reporting processes for mock assessments.
• Providing operational and policy-related guidance to support the implementation and continuous improvement of program requirements.
• Supporting training, technical guidance and cross-team collaboration across the Fisheries Standard function.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, solutions-focused and confident working in a collaborative and evolving environment. You will also bring:

• Project and stakeholder management experience, with the ability to manage complex workstreams and collaborate effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex topics clearly to different audiences.
• Experience building effective working relationships ideally within an international or stakeholder-led environment.
• An interest in fisheries, sustainability, environmental policy or standards development.
