Lead Aquaculture Technician

Job Details

We are seeking a dedicated Lead Aquaculture Technician for a full-time or part-time, on-site role based in Quezon City. The role involves overseeing daily aquaculture operations, monitoring aquatic environments, managing feeding schedules, maintaining water quality, and ensuring the health and growth of aquatic species. Responsibilities include overseeing staff, maintaining compliance with safety and environmental standards, conducting routine inspections, and identifying opportunities to optimize processes. The Lead Technician will also prepare reports and collaborate with management to achieve operational goals.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Water Quality & System Monitoring

  • Check and maintain DO, pH, ammonia, and temperature
  • Operate and monitor aeration, filtration, and water systems
  • Respond quickly to abnormal readings

2. Feeding & Fish Care

  • Execute daily feeding schedules
  • Observe fish behavior and appetite
  • Adjust feeding based on conditions

3. Fish Health & Stocking

  • Monitor for signs of stress or disease
  • Assist in stocking, grading, and harvest
  • Maintain survival rates

4. Facility & Tank Maintenance

  • Ensure tanks, pumps, and drains are clean and functional
  • Perform routine cleaning and minor troubleshooting

5. Data Recording

  • Log daily readings (water, feed, mortality)
  • Report issues and trends

6. Team Support

  • Guide helpers/workers in feeding and cleaning
  • Ensure protocols are followed

Requirements

  • Graduate of BS Fisheries, Aquaculture, Biology, or related fields
  • Open to fresh grads or 1–3 years experience
  • Willing to be hands-on daily
  • Basic understanding of water quality is a plus
