Job Details

Tasks and responsibilities • Supervise the timely implementation of the project: Development of Sustainable Fishery Value Chains in BARMM, at the provincial level • Provide strategic recommendations on how to enhance project implementation in priority areas • Provide technical guidance and support to relevant government partners (i.e. MAFAR Provincial counterparts, LGUs) and stakeholders (i.e. CBOs, Small/Medium Fishery/Aquaculture Business operators) in the implementation of the project • Strengthen partnerships and inter-agency efforts at provincial level including fostering collaboration as well as coordinated implementation on the ground • Coordinate and liaise with provincial and local government partners, and other relevant stakeholders for the conduct of project activities • Prepare and submit reports for activities undertaken • Work closely with the Project Team Leader and Specialists for the design of the project activities • Carry out other relevant duties within his/her technical competence as requested by the FAO Representative

Requirements

Minimum Requirements • University degree in the field of Fisheries, Aquaculture, or Aquatic Resources, Community Development/Organizing, Development Studies or other related fields. • At least five (5) years of relevant experience fisheries/rural development sectors, programme management and implementation, capacity building, and coordination with national/regional government structures, NGOs and private sector and the UN agencies. • Working knowledge (level C) of English • National of the Philippines. Technical/Functional Skills • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to an evolving and complex humanitarian context and within multidisciplinary and different cultural background teams • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Tagalog • General knowledge and skills in the use of standard software, such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
