Job Details
You will be welcomed in the Fish Infection and Immunity team of the UMR Molecular Virology and Immunology (UMR INRAE-UVSQ-Université Paris-Saclay, https://vim.jouy.hub.inrae.fr/) whose mission is to conduct research on pathogens of interest to animal and human health, their interactions with the host, and to develop disease control solutions. The unit is located on the INRAE campus in Jouy-en-Josas (near Versailles/Massy; RER station 800 m away, bus stop in the immediate vicinity). The team studies infectious diseases of fish and focuses on understanding host-pathogen interactions mainly in rainbow trout. Your mission will be part of the FLAVORESIST project funded under the national FEAMPA program. It mobilizes several academic and private actors from the aquaculture sector and aims to identify the genetic and functional bases of resistance to flavobacteriosis in order to improve the robustness of commercial rainbow trout populations through a genetic selection strategy.
As a research engineer, you will be in charge of organizing and carrying out infectiology protocols, including bacterial culture, collection and analysis of biological samples using bacteriology and molecular biology methods. You will work in close consultation with the team's bacteriologists and the staff of the experimental fish farm located on campus (https://ierp.jouy.hub.inrae.fr/). You will participate in a functional analysis of the resistance trait through the integration of genetic, transcriptomic and phenotyping data, in direct interaction with the bacteriologists, immunologists and geneticists participating in the project. As part of your duties, you will be responsible for formatting the results, writing scientific reports and presenting them during project monitoring meetings.
Requirements
Master/Engineer (Bac+5)
