Kallaya Sritunyalucksana
Principle Researcher of BIOTEC/NSTDA
My main research interest is to understand the shrimp-pathogen interactions which will lead to explore the strategies for prevention and control of pathogens that cause disease outbreak in shrimp culture industry. My team and I are part of the national shrimp genetic improvement program for the black tiger shrimp, Penaeus monodon, which belongs to BIOTEC/NSTDA to do the selective breeding program for this Thai indigenous species. I am also interested in working as part of national and international networks for the surveillance program for aquatic animal health. Recently, our team with UK-Thai collaboration have worked on the international network for shrimp health (INSH) as a communication point for shrimp research.
