Join us for the 1st interactive Student 'Hackathon’ at AQUA2024! What to Expect:
14:00 – Aquaculture International: Early career researchers reviewer panel (Gavin Burnell)
14:10 – Current status and progress of the EAS Student Group (Mariana Ferreira and Silvia Natale)
14:20 – WAS Student Group (Nicole Rhody and Mariam Oyinade Bakare)
14:30 – 'Hackathon’ Session 1: Ana Nobre & Luís Conceição (SPAROS)
14:30 – Problem Pitch and Q&A: A company representative will present a real-world problem related to aquaculture. Participants will have the opportunity to ask clarifying questions to ensure they fully understand the problem.
14:45 – Group Discussions: Students will be randomly assigned to groups of approximately five and will brainstorm potential solutions to the problem.
15:15 – Solutions Pitch: Each group will present their proposed solution to the problem.
15:35 – Break: A brief break while the jury evaluates the solutions. Travel grants students will make a pitch presentation of their work during this period.
15:45 – Proclamation of Winning Group: The winning team will be announced, with feedback provided on their solution.
