Heavy metals and microplastics are pollutants of the aquatic environments because of their toxicity, persistency, non-biodegradable and tendency to accumulate in organisms. This menace in the aquatic ecosystem is of increasing concern worldwide due to their impacts on the entire ecosystem and human health. This study aimed at assessing bioaccumulation concentration of heavy metals and microplastics in selected fish species, water and sediments from River Elemi.
