Infographics are an evolution of data visualization, that use a collection of images, graphs, charts to convey information about a particular topic in a visually attractive format. D eveloped in the 1980's as a means for journalists to support story telling through a visual component, infographics have proliferated throughout the business and marketing world. In this digital age, where there is near constant and fierce competition for the attention of our audiences, research and extension can also benefit from the use of infographics as tools to both capture an audience's attention and share valuable information. Integrated with social media and other digital platforms, infographics can also serve to connect audiences with additional information and materials.
