40 SEP TEMBER 2020 • WORLD AQUACULTURE • WWW.WA S.ORG inland water resources. Plans and actions of preventive protocols for new alien species introduction and proactive mitigation measures should be pursued. An information drive among the stakeholders for responsible farming should be conducted, with emphasis on the use of scientific approaches for regulation of stocking density in consideration of the carrying capacity of the water, along with massive efforts in endemic species repopulation. All these efforts must be in accordance with the obligations pursuant to the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries, and other relevant international agreements (FAO 2008).
