Recently, food companies have released fast seafoods that have solved these problems and are getting positive responses in the market. The demand for fast seafood is expected to increase further due to the increase in single-person households and working families. The MOF plans to significantly increase the scale of fast-food development reflecting market demand. In addition, the MOF will also push for marketing decided to postpone the 1st Aquaculture Africa (AFRAQ20) to next year. We are finalizing the new dates, which will most likely be during the second week of December 2021. The event will still be at Alexandrina Bibliotheca, Alexandria City, Egypt. In fact, as many of you are aware, in the best interest for the safety and well-being of our members, delegates, exhibitors and all other parties concerned, WAS has rescheduled most of its international events to next year due to planning and logistical complications as a result of the pandemic which has resulted in lockdowns, travel restrictions, bans on mass gatherings etc. Please visit our website for more www.was.org. And by the way, the WAS website has recently been revamped with a new look, improved features and ease of access. In October, the FAO will be releasing their State of World Aquaculture 2020. They were scheduled to take place between May and August 2020, with new officers starting their terms at our Board Meeting during LACQUA20. With the postponement of the event to March 2021, it being virtual or not, the Board decided to respect that date and request nominations from the membership of the Chapter soon. The new Secretary and Director will both serve a two-year term and nominees need to be current members of the LACC in good standing. However, all these plans have not yet been implemented due to COVID19. — Jin-Hyung Yoo, President Pos i t ion, continued from page 14 Description of Job Responsibilities • Facilitates the ideas/proposals that are identified/submitted through the steps defined in theWAS Book Policy procedure. • Develops a proposal form that contains all the questions needed to make an assessment and ultimately an acceptable/unacceptable decision on all book proposals. • Solicits individuals about coordinating the production of specific publications. • Explores potential collaborations with outside publishers for book development. • Develops budgets, contracts, and agreements for publication or co-publication of books by the Society. • Secures sources of outside sponsorship for WAS book projects as appropriate. • Manages in-house book publication including editorial review of submissions, copyediting, page setting, printing and delivery of book. • Manages the solicitation, review, contracts, marketing and posting of non-WAS published books for theWAS online store. • Prepares an annual book budget including all income and expenses associated with book projects. • Prepares semiannual reports for theWAS Board on book development to include motions for allocation of funding and or authorization for WAS book projects.
